Hi,

I'm Melissa

Certified Hatha, Vinyasa (RYS200hrs)

and

Prenatal Yoga Instructor (RYS100hrs)

Besides teaching Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, I am also passionate about the amazing unfolding process of being a woman. I consider the concept of community, women's gathering and support systems extremely important as an empowerment tool for all women, regardless of their stage in life.

Have you ever asked yourself why a week before your period comes, your energy levels drop and you might not feel like being social, or moving too much? Or how on certain weeks you feel energized and ready to take on the world? I never really asked myself these questions until a few years back when I went off the pill and started tracking my cycle.

Learning about your own body, the role of hormones and your menstrual cycle can be very empowering. Many women still don't know in depth about their menstrual cycle and how this can influence their mood and overall day-to-day functioning. Not knowing this, many force ourselves at times to perform like there's nothing going on with our bodies.

I believe it is essential that you know about the important role your cycle plays in your body, mind, spirit and overall lifestyle, and best of all, how adapting your yoga practice to your cycle makes all the difference and how you feel.

Yoga can be a great tool to learn more about our bodies. The space we hold for ourselves while practicing yoga is an amazing opportunity to observe and notice our physical, mental and emotional reactions and responses to our internal and external world. Becoming an observer of our own workings can be very empowering and insightful. You can learn to honor your feelings, whether physical or mental, good or bad and adapt your yoga practice to cater to what YOU need and not what yoga should look like

With the yoga for women series I've designed, my mission is to bring you a little bit closer to yourself. Through breath, movement, sound and meditation, we learn to trust our bodies and listen to our intuition.

At the end of this series you will feel connected, refreshed and empowered as the wise woman that you are.

What you will learn

01

The four phases or seasons of our menstrual cycle and how to adapt your yoga practice accordingly for a happier and healthier you.

02

What hormones play part in your menstrual cycle, moods and energy levels, as well as the role of the nervous system in your cycle and how to help them function smoothly.

03

Empowering tools that can support you during your menstrual cycle, increase your intuition and self-confidence and guide you into fully accepting and nurturing your relationship with your feminine self.
